Do a search on the Slax forum for "multi-boot", there's a couple of threads on it.roadie Posted by Ashish on Mar. 07 2005,21:19

Looks like the CD is built to act like a hard drive. The thing that seems to be key is the part about getting tools to minipulate the image because there is a statement "you cannot build an ISO image that boots isolinux.bin correctly using nero, cdrwin or other buyware recording software, you have to use cdrpack/mkisofs (you can record the generated ISO image generate by cdrpack/mkisofs using nero, cdrwin or others). I will create a patched version of isolinux.bin that can also be used with nero or so when I have some spare time." I am asuming you mean linux newbie ? The barts way thing looks to be more dos windoze with addon tools and isolinux . I think isolinux is a dos floppy 1.44 emulation type thing. Posted by Ashish on Mar. 14 2005,12:07
i guess i got wht the bart'z way is ... but i m kinda confused ... it goes somewht like this ... here i m using slax, dsl and feather linuxcreate a new folder and name it as "multibootcd" make folders named as "slax", "dsl" and "feather" in the "Multibootcd" then copy all the files from ur distro( or iso) to the respective folders i got this part ... but then there'z something abt making the boot menu and stuffs ... i didnt understand even a bit of it ! ... so basically i m thinking of getting some boot menu making tool and then using tht menu i'd link the boot menu to the live boot loaders ... i hope i m making sense ! also see if u can get the boot image for the cd'z Posted by Ashish on Mar. 14 2005,12:20
oh yeah and its built to act as an hdd but read-only ! and when u restart the OS ... all everything is resetted ... i tried feather linux the other day it had an option to build a cd with the settings u hv configured ! maybe dsl also has some option like tht ... i m assuming tht some of the important files to run the OS r copied to ram and the extra'z are taken from the cd !

http://www.geocities.com/potato.geo/bootlinuxcd.htmlfound this sounds like your on the right track! I am trying to get machine with burner set up Posted by filthyskillet on Mar. 14 2005,19:21
I think we need to get isollinux to point to lilo and lilo to point to images
Posted by Ashish on Mar. 14 2005,20:54
yeah thts true ... i think we need to get the boot loaders configured to startup the damn menu and then boot into one of our kernels ! but for doing this we need a valid boot image which will get the boot menu and then get us into the loader and also into the OS.. but the problem is we donno how to do it ... and trust me ... no1 really wants to help us

Talk to ya then.It will clear your head geten away, even if it is exams. Posted by Ashish on Mar. 16 2005,20:48
hey mate ... guess wht i kinda worked out the same old way by modifying the isolinux.cfg using the bart'z way ... but now the prob is tht feather and dsl have a same folder named "KNOPPIX" and a same file named as "KNOPPIX" the only diff is the size and maybe the config ... so i cant store it on the main partition ! ... now i guess i gotta find a way to mess around with the damn links !

Here is a thread that discusses using multisession with the cdrecord utilityalready in DSL. The only challenge I see is to make the additional iso's have the proper offset in them for msinfo to use.. , then coming up with some sort of a boot option to load either .iso .. < http://damnsmalllinux.org/cgi-bin....session > 73 ke4nt Posted by Ashish on Mar. 24 2005,21:16
i tried makin a cd with isolinux with dsl and feather linux in it ... but the problem was ... after configuring the boot menu and all... it used to boot with a file located at \knoppix\knoppix ... now the filename is same in the case of both the live cd's ! so is thr any way we can change the location of this file ... like i tried renaming the knoppix directory @ the root of the cd to DSL but it didnt work ! slax worked in tht case !

http://www.cdshell.org/Try that. I will as well. Posted by Ashish on Mar. 28 2005,12:28
i guess u guys rnt gettin the prob ... The Link(While Booting Using The Boot Loader) To The File(IMAGE) "Knoppix" located at the "[Knoppix]" Folder in root directory of the cd needs to be modified ! i figured out the rest of the part by changing the boot loader using isolinux
