Hello, when the DSL is booting, "KNOPPIX 2.78" is showed in screen.

DSL seems to be based in KNOPPIX 2.78.

I want compile some things and the DSL don't have make and gcc. I compiled in other linux with the same version of kernel (2.4.26) but they don't work in DSL because kernel dependencies.

I think that if I use KNOPPIX 2.78 to compile some things, they should work in DSL.

What do you think about this?

I was trying download KNOPPIX 2.78 but not found because it is too old...

DSL is based on Knoppix 3.4-5-17-2004

What you see is the knoppix init script which is version 2.78.

the gcc and kernel headers are available in the repository.

if you need the kernel source, you will have to grab the 2.4.26 source from kernel.org and apply the knoppix patches in the kernelsource.dsl.

Thans for your help. It is very usefull.

I didn't known the .dsl extensions and the repository. They are a great idea and it is much easy than I was trying.

I thought that DSL was based in KNOPPIX 2.78, but I was wrong.

Thanks again!
