yes i have goten wine to work, it was a pain, but editing a file forget which i changed stable to unstable "or testing for that matter", and apt-get'd wine. also try geting it with synaptic. but ill figure out what file and tell you here later.

I'd love to learn how to get wine to work. Maybe someone more experienced could make a .dsl of it.

Over the past year, I have received several different versions
of wine.dsl contributions from the userbase..

In each case, they were very difficult to work with, and are
challenging to setup again after they are installed thru usual means..
( meaning , not everyone has the same file and partition setup
that wine sees when it first installs onto the .dsl builder's system. )

Perhaps someone can create a winedebs.dsl , similar to
the alsadebs or aliendebs packages, that will give users
a way to install and setup properly from the start.
( by setting the proper perms/owners,
and correctly running thru the pre and post-installs routines in apt-get.. )

The current offerings will create way too much traffic in the forums
and irc channel for support and recovery from hosed systems
to even begin to offer it as a .dsl
( I installed wine on my HDInstall, now how do I remove it? )
( I tried running it with wine, but it needs A-thru-Z dll files,
...is there a .dsl for those?)

WineHQ or simply the wine offerings thru apt-get are enough to get
someone started who feels they can tackle wine in DSL.
Also, by using apt-get , either in HDInstalls or other installs,
the chances for recovery are much improved..

I have a very small minimal wine.dsl I use on my system.
I will NOT post it public, but if some brave soul wants to play with it,
PM me, and I'll forward a copy.
