I am using DSL to start a  WinXP box which needs a corrupt file erased. I mount the drive, and even when I mount "rw" it will not let me write, as the Windork volume is read only. Is there any way around this?

DSL does not have the ability to write to ntfs partitions, since the ntfs spec is closed-source, the ability to write to ntfs has only come around recently.

You might try Knoppix 3.6 or newer, because they have the Captive NTFS program that will allow (.s. .l. .o. .w.) write access to ntfs partitions.

Good luck.
