How can I install Gaim.deb pakage?

I whould love to install it in my fat32 hdisk

and later do a new cd with more themes and with
gaim
firefox 0.8
and other software

can someone tell how to step by step?

To install .deb
dpkg -i xxx.deb

make sure that you've read Getting Start on DSL cd.

I can't after downloading DSL 0.7 and the GNU utils extention

I get this on bash

root@ttyp1[damnsmall]# dpkg -i gaim_0.77-1_i386.deb
dpkg: unable to access dpkg status area: No such file or directory
root@ttyp1[damnsmall]#

seem like you still did not restore dpkg
As root type "dpkg-restore" without quote
to download dpkg util
