On a windows machine what are the best ways to get to the Bios system. I have the live cd version when I want to use DSL I always have to turn the computer off then on again and hit f1. I know there is a faster way probably more than one . Can anyone help

well, you shouldn't have to do anything if you set it up properly. I mean, it should automatically start in DSL as soon as you turn on your PC without you pressing anything.

But, to get to your BIOS, try pressing ESC as soon as you start your PC.

You could maybe explain your problem in more detail...:)

longoria460, if you are just talking about accessing your bios, than that is the way I have always done it. Just restart and press the appropriate button for to bring up the bios. Someone else may be able to tell you a better way, but if I am understanding correctly the way you are doing it is pretty standard.

When you first boot your pc there will be the bootscreen. Every computer I've ever used would actually tell you before booting the OS what button to press to get into BIOS.

Del, F1 , F2 ESC are some of them... just take a good hard look when you pc boots and see what it tells you to use.

yeah...maybe you should tell us the name of your machine? I'm using HP and mine is F1.
