little history:
I've been v lightly dabbling in linux for years with v little success. Problems with installs, or just not the functionallity (for the effort I put in) as my Windows system. I have moved rooms & don't have my PC to hand. I have an xbox set up as a media center & with xDSL installed, I can surf & IRC - I'm really pleased with this solution.

currently xDSL installed & running well. (frugal)

so, we're dealing with an XBOX, but this could be an issue with normal PCs too (? - apologies if I'm posting in the wrong place)

However, I would like to mount 1) my 64MB MuVo &/or 2) my external USB HDD. (both formatted soem flavour of FAT)

I have no doubt the USB bit is installed ok, but I understand I need some scsi drivers/modules installed too.

I removed the "noscsi" from my linuxboot.cfg, but this hasn't helped me.

this topic has some relevance:
but there's also reference to compiling kernels - this scares me.

There is no "/proc/scsi" dir in my setup.

where do I get modules? & how should I apply them?
