Has anyone tried Vmware on DSL. Vmware is allowing a 1 month free download to ck it out. If so what necessary dsl programs do I need to install. I know I sound lazy. but I am old. I must say that DSL is the most fun operating system I have found in linux. The upgrades have been cool. Following the life cycle of an opperating  system. slax and puppy are cool for small linux O.P.s but DSL has been my choice for awhile. For such a small O.P it really performs. I burn all my cd's on Combust and download all my info from emelfm file manager. MY usb camera and thumb drives all mount with ease but so do scsi cards and hard drives. Cdroms are recognized as long as you have media in them. I am still having diffuculty with watching dvd's or even recognizing dvd media. what file system does dvd use? Enough wandering. Thanks again for a great system, getting better.  Marty

DVDs use the UDF file system, although it is also possible to use the ISO filesystem with a DVD recordable.

Hi,

I want to install DSL on HDD for using it as a host system for VMware.

- Did anyone try this before?
- Which DSL extensions are needed to install VMware Workstation?

The idea is, to run VMware on a lightweight and portable Linux system. Before starting my own expedition, I would like to know about (and learn from) the experience of other people.

Thanks for all posts!  :)
