I'm booting from a standard DSL live disk.  Do I have to install it to a harddrive to get the icon?  I thought I read somewhere that if you install it you shouldn't use myDSL.  I'm so confused.  Can anyone help?

P.S. I'm new to dsl and pretty much new to linux in general.  I'm really happy with how fast my old laptop is with dsl on it.   :;):

The MyDSL icon should be right there on the desktop.  If you can't find it try running  mydslPanel.lua

Good Luck,

And how would I go about doing that?  Excuse my lack of knowledge.

From looking through the wiki I thought I would be able to get it to work through Emelfm, but it said to click the MYDSL button there but there isn't one there either.  I'm completely myDSLless.

On the Desktop open Xterminal.  At the prompt type "mydslPanel.lua" (without the quotes).  That will open the MyDSL window.  Note that closing the Xterminal window will also close MyDSL window.

Good Luck,

i get:
bash: mydslPanel.lua: command not found

Any ideas?

You are using a VERY old version of DSL.

0.6.x or older.

Download the latest iso image and be happy~
