I've been using DSL off and on for almost a year now.  I gave up on it only because I had a horrible time getting my winmodem and serial modem to work with it. I also have up on linux as a whole as it was just to difficult to keep a system updated with dial-up.

Anyway, loaded 2.0RC1 last night and it picked up my winmodem perfectly (AWESOME).  So, I;m now back into DSL and linux (pretty east to keep a system this small updated).

Right now, I'm running of the LiveCD with toram.  I have a 256mb USB key that I use as storage etc.  Upon first boot, I typed "toram", "opt=sda1", and "mydsl=sda1".  After booting, I set the backup/restore to sda1 as well.  Everthing seems to be running great all the changes I've made stay.

So, all that rambling leads to my question...am I good to go? I have every intention to stay with the livecd/usb key set up. I would need a boot floppy to use the USB key exclusively...which defeats the purpose for me...may as well carry around the cd and the key.

Anyway, the way I have it set up above just seemed to easy.  There are so many way to run this Distro that I get confused..lol

Thanks!

You're good to go. =o)
You might also add "home=sda1" to your boot options to lower your backup size.  In this case you wouldn't even need to use backup/restore unless you are backing up files that are not in home or opt.  If you do this, though, and continue to use the backup/restore, you'll want to edit .filetool.lst so you don't bother overwriting a bunch of files in /home/dsl that you already have on the disk.
