i have an epson stylus color 640 that i would like to use on my DSL HD-install. unfortunately, i have no idea on how to configure the computer to make it work.

I don't have that printer.

I believe that the uniprint driver is compatible with the apsfilter software but I am not 100% sure.

When using apsfilter, I would try the option "4" (gimp-print) in the driver menu. I use that to setup my Epson Stylus C62 without any problems.
