*Newbie alert*
I am trying to install Megatunix. < http://megatunix.sourceforge.net/ >

When I run the command ./configure I get the message

configure: error: no acceptable C compiler found in $PATH
See 'config.log' for more details.

I viewed 'config.log' but was unable to make any sense of it.
What do I do? I am using Mike Weber's book as a guide.

Thanks! :D

Okay, I've just noticed the "Compiling Problems and DSL" topic at the top of this forum.  I'm going to take a wild guess and assume that this applies to my problem.

1. Make sure that common library and system extensions are loaded.

Install the gnu-utils, dpkg, gcc1, gtk2, tcl/tk, as well as any other system extensions in order to provide as many libraries as possible for your compiler to use.

How do I do this?

I just tried to configure in knoppix.  However, I get

root@ttyp0[megatunix-0.7.10]# ./configure
./configure: line 88: conf1292.sh: Read-only file system
./configure: line 89: conf1292.sh: Read-only file system
chmod: cannot access `conf1292.sh': No such file or directory
./configure: line 201: conf1292.file: Read-only file system
./configure: line 1190: config.log: Read-only file system

Can anyone help me out?
Thanks
:)
