I can't get any gtk2 applications to work despite loading this library. I am running DSL 2.2b LiveCD on a Dell D600 laptop. The problem appears to be pango related. I have seen this problem identified in other posts, but I couldn't find a resolution.

Wow, do I feel like an idiot. I just found a response by roberts indicating that after you download the file, you need to execute it. Thanks!
