I've installed vim 7 and would like to know how to remove vim 6.4

depends how and where 6.4 was installed. If it was installed through mydsl, you can simply unmount it. If it was installed from a deb packages, it would probably be mostly in /usr/share/vim64.
If vim7 was also a deb package, it probably already overwrote the binaries of 6.4.
