For dsl2.4 emelfm can mount drives but cannot unmount them after (need to be superuser), is this normal ? only it works well in dsl2.1

ok, i'm bumping this one.

This still does not work for the latest dsl 3.0.
I'm doing from fresh installs, without any backup.tar.gz s from older versions and without any apps installed. EmelFm still won't umount
for user dsl.

I even tried copying buttons and filetypes from skel, no luck. And even copied the directory, no go.

umount: /dev/hda1: not mounted
umount: /mnt/hda1: must be superuser to umount

Any ideas?

you can use the mount tool

i just thought that if the menu item is there, then it should work.
it's not really a pain for me, but for newbies it might be.

True.
And I've noticed the same.

Maybe there's missing 'sudo' from the unmount menu command?

Not on dsl so I can't check, however I was under the impression that 'mount' had the SUID bit set so that ordinary user dsl effectively had root perms when running mount. Has this changed in the releases you are using? Perhaps my memory is faulty.

User dsl can mount and unmount devices.  However, if the device is mounted by root it is owned by root and therefore it must be umounted by root.

so is this a situation where user dsl is allowed to mount but not unmount ? or is user dsl using sudo for mount but not for unmount?

i really don't want to tell a newbie that he must run emelfm as root for every mount or unmount. i have gotton into bags of trouble before, forgetting that emelfm is left running under root.
