No Firefox in DSL 2.4

Hi,

I just did a fresh frugal of DSL 2.4.
When I click on the Firefox icon nothing happens.

I tried following the scripts and launch manually,
but Iīm lost.

Any help appreciated.

Open aterm and type "firefox".  What happens?

Nothing.
Also if I start from within su-xterm.

I also tried resolution 1024x768 (Iīm using 800x600 as default).

Iīm running from within VMWare. Can that be a reason?

Did you use the dsl-2.4-vmx version?  If not then the dsl.vmx file was not installed.  I am running dsl-2.4-vmx in vmware on a WinXP machine and firefox works fine.

No, I didnīt.

But now I checked on a real machine wit dsl2.4 already installed.
Same behaviour, i.e. just nothing, not even an error message.

Maybe something did not arrive on my hd when frugal installing

Will try with live cd only.

I figured it out.

I had made a fresh install of DSL2.4, but restored persistent
/opt and /home from the previous DSL 1.5 installation.
This included the /home/dsl/.mozilla folder.

After copying the appropriate folder from the live cd boot-up,
FF started again.
Since I did not have any special settings I didnīt bother about potentially loosing them.
