Hi,
sorry for fans of AXY FTP, but I have used it a lot always with the same problem of cutting connection after 15-20 minutes when I am transfering files (= more than 5 MB, but less than 15MB) from my dsl machine at my office and my other dsl machine at home. Using gftp, I experienced no problem.
So, would you agree to suppress AXY FTP in order to gain room, and use a ftp client as gftp which seems to be better reliable? Just a question.

...and a follow up: I checked apps again in order to know what apps could be not so useful in the base DSL .iso; aim would be gain room and encourage the use of extensions:

1. AXY FTP: for the reasons mentioned;
2. Firefox: the extension exists and dillo can do a basic job in order not to frighten the new users wanting DSL just in order to surf (but in case of: dillo or lynx? I would prefer lynx);
3. ICQ: because you can log in AIM with an ICQ number;
4. Sylpheed: T-Bird exists as extension, and a lot of people use a webmail, but I have to admit that this point will remain controversial;
5. gPhone: a lot of us probably use skype instead;
6. Net dictionnary: because there are a lot and better ones available online in the Internet;
7. PIM using Index: I don't know the utility of it since thunderbird and sunbird, both available as .uci;
8. the games, not so useful in the base DSL .iso, but ok, that's maybe important for others.
