My harddisk died, so I bought a new harddisk, witch was pre-formatted with NTFS for some reason, and I need to be able to write to that filesystem, since I want to download a full linux distro to the harddisk, is there any hack, application, command line switch, whatever that can provide write acsess to NTFS (Or perhaps even FAT32 as I have a little FAT32 drive laying around here somewhere)?

Thanks,
ElijahX

You won't have a problem with FAT32 disks but NTFS is a different story. The rule is read access only.

see following post   < http://damnsmalllinux.org/cgi-bin....hl=ntfs >

Why don't you reformat it to a Linux format?
