Imagine your wife driving the car , she doesnt want to know , or care what under the bonnet , she just want to go to the super market .. Thats me ... What I would like from someone is go to tools ---->app--->install reboot or what ever Sorry for the swearing and cursing , but I have absolutely had enough, Kind regards in advance Stephen ps the machine isnt connectect to the internet, is pentium 3 ram of 128 , and is running the latest DSL on the HD Posted by kerry on July 18 2006,12:42
go here -> < http://distro.ibiblio.org/pub/linux/distributions/damnsmall/mydsl/uci/ >grab the qcad.uci, transfer it to the machine that's not connected, then click on the mydsl icon then click on the bottom bar that say's local load(something like that) then just wait till it installs(in this case mounts) if there's no icon on the desktop right click> mydsl>qcad uci is a special extension for low ram machines such as your's. note: the UCI extensions are mounted, like a CD, so it will need to be remounted each time you reboot.
Why use Linux if you don't want to know? You will find that in many cases you will NEED to learn at least a little about what's under the hood in order to accomplish what you want to do, particularly in a distro like DSL which comes with 0 documentation and very basic config tools. |
