Is Apache HTTP Server 2.2.3 compatable with DSL?

Don't know - no one's tried it yet.

So it looks like so far dsl isn't a viable webserver os...

No, not quite.

Monkey I know works pretty much out-of-the-box.
And there's Apache 2.0.54 extension package (with PHP) in MyDSL.  Just no one has tried the newest apache 2 yet.

There's also the new lighttpd extension.

Don't know what went wrong with the other guy's.

Works and works. It stops working after a while and the PC has to be rebooted. What's worse is the lack of support. No active forum. Only the sourceforge default which is dead as a fish in the Death Valley midday sun.  I just made that up :p

Thanks for the hint of MyDSL:

I found Apache 2.0.54 under NET. The server is started by entering /opt/wwwroot/bin and doing ./httpd as root.

By the help of a citrix remote look-back I can see it works fine to the world. Now I have to see if it keeps up or my weird Compaq labtop (Armada 7770DMT) locks it down during a power save exercise.

Check it out on < http://83.92.35.50 > and let me know what you see.

If the Apache server keeps up, DSL is a winner on my antique 233mHz, 128mb Pentium II.  :D

I can later confirm, the Apache server doesn't stop like Monkey and I announce DSL+Apache a winning combination on an old and small laptop. :)

Thanks again for the hints.
