Greetings.
I am interested in running mailwasher pro type program from within DSL. Iit is from < firetrust >. The choices given for linux are Fedora 2,3,4 linspire 4.5,5.0, mandrake, suse, mempis, kubuntu, sarge and xandros. From what I read , DSL is debian based, and so is linspire, so would you suggest I try the linspire release, or would i need to find a "mydsl" version of a similar program?

You can use whatever you like, and the chances of it working are pretty much the same since it wasn't built specifically for DSL. A pre-built binary may require additional libraries, and some additional tools to extract the files from the package. Or it may install and run with no trouble.

No one can say for sure until someone tries it.

fyi, sarge is debian 3.1, and will probably come in .deb format.
