I downloaded the newest firefox but I get an error when I try to run it from it's directory.

Is there a better way to install Firefox? Maybe with apt-get or a deb package?

I just want to update firefox to the latest version.

MyDSL:

This does not update Firefox, but adds a newer version to your system.

How do you install it?

Use the mydsl tool (can be launched from your desktop)

From terminal, download it manually, and use mydsl-load

That worked but it only let me install from my dsl user account and after I reboot it's gone.

Any way to make it permanent and for all users?

mydsl installation works only for user "dsl", but after the install all users can access the program.

Look in the wiki and check out the Dillo page that auto-loads with X for info on loading mydsl extensions automatically.
