I can't seem to get Rox to open up any files by their type.

it wants to treat everything as either text file, or executable.

I've done some reading, and its all tied up with MIME and i found a MIME-editor, but it requires python, which doesn't work either.

Has anyone got any suggestions for getting this to work?

I like Rox from what I see so far, but if someone knows another file manager with a similar interface that isn't broken, I'm all ears.

Thanx

What do you mean by it's "broken"?

Are you using Rox from the DSL repository or from apt-get? Give examples of what you're trying to do. You don't need a MIME-editor to edit your run actions.

sorry for the alarm, i got it working.

I copied my mime-info folder from my Ubuntu install into the Choices/MIME-info folder that rox uses.

not a perfect solution, but it worked, as I use xmms and gimp in Ubuntu and the commands are the same in both OS's.

It now recognizes all my files just fine.
