Works nicely with DSL using Wine: Fund Manager < http://www.fundmanagersoftware.com > I'd be interested in hearing about other portfolio managers people are using with DSL. Note: Run from Wine's taskmanager. Set autobackup path in Prefs (eg., z:\mnt\hda3\Program Files\Fund Manager\Autoback) Posted by jpeters on Mar. 13 2007,03:51
Some more notes if anybody tries out this program:If you install the program directory on a /mnt/hda? partition, create a symbolic link from the Fund Manager directory to /dsl/wine/drive c/program files/ , and run from there (through wine taskmgr: "c:\program files\Fund Manager\fm"). Even with the hda? path set in prefs and the registry, it needs to think its on c: for program updates and price downloads, etc., to work. EDIT: OK....FORGET about the symbolic links; just install the whole thing in /dsl/wine/drive_c/Program Files/. Everything else corrupts the data. Maybe we need a "Wine, Apps" board on DSL. |
