How do I remove unwanted programs from a DSL hard drive install?  I don't want/need xMMs, VNCviewer, etc.  Thanks!

Manually. You could create some scripts (some remastering-related threads have this - but may not be the same since I'm assuming you're using a traditional debian-style hd-install). Not sure if apt-get remove works (at least, probably not all apps) Posted by WDef on Mar. 24 2007,13:42
Mikshaw was working on a script to remove apps - see his thread in the Programming & Scripting section.Ideas re apps that were installed as debian packages eg xmms:
This might get complicated where one package is the dependency of another etc. |
