I've used the MSDoc Convert/Viewer to successfully convert a .doc file to PostScript.  All of my attempts to convert to PDF have failed.

Hi, I do not know MSdoc Converter (but I will have a look at it, sounds Interesting...), but to convert a Postscript file to PDF, you will have to use the Ghostscript command ps2pdf (which can be called from a terminal window).

As far as I know the Ghostscript is preinstalled by default in DSL (I could not find it, but it works on my 4.0 distribution : Edit I could not find on the DSL application or package list...).

Bye, Mauro

In DSL 4.2.2 and 4.2.3 works perfectly the conversion from a .doc to .pdf with the MS word viewer/converter

Same applies to me using a 4.0_rc00: I have no problem using the .
MSDoc and converting to PDF.

The only problem is that I think that ghostscript is missing many fonts, and from a .DOC document build on win, uses the courier font instead of "arial" which is the nearest to the original one.

Yes, that's truth, even in the view and in the conversion mode
