Has anyone been able to cut and paste with pathetic writer? The interface is pleasant, but how can you have a word processor with no copy, cut, or paste? The fonts seem to work well. I couldn't find documentation on import/export and other menu choices. Is this a useable app at all? I think without Ted there is no word processor in 0.8.4. No problem really as someone was nice enough to make a dsl for Ted. It would be good to have the latest Ted, though, if there are no new complications in it. Thanks.

I don't know anything about pathetic, but I can take a guess....
have you tried selecting the text to copy and then middle-click to paste?

Hi, thanks. Yes, I can mark and then paste using the third button, but the menu choices for cut, etc. don't work for me. I guess it's usable. The delete key works (one character at a time). But it's nice to delete a highlighted block of text or cut and paste it.

if it really lack this features, then it deserves to be dumped our of dsl. but I hardly think that john and robert and the rest of the team have decided to put in pathetic writer without giving it a try.
these are basic features, I'm pretty sure there must be a way to get them working..
???

That's what I thought--bound to work somehow. Surely copy, cut, and paste worked when the guy wrote it originally. Has anybody been able to use these menu choices?

There was a DSL forum thread going (can't remember where) on this cut/copy and paste problem just when v0.84 came out. A few of us coudn't get this to work on a variety of machines (especially with touchpad only).  I think John said he'd tried everything to optimise compatibilty but it was known about.
Ted allows you to insert tables or edit tables set up in Word files (.rtf converted) - a bonus over PW any day.

Thanks for the suggestion. I can copy and paste with the mouse but cannot cut, etc. from the menu. Also, the program crashes unpredictably losing all data. It is not worth using in its current state.
