Hi all:

My first post on DSL. I'm trying to install wine but I need  xlibs-dev package but I cant install it from Synaptic.
Anyone have any suggestions on how to do this?
Any help appreciated.

Thanks

I managed to install it pretty easily by just doing apt-get install wine
(testing)

wine and DSL usually don't play nice together, which is why you don't see a wine.dsl.

if you need wine on a live cd, you might try Slax Kill-bill edition.

Thanks for the replies.  No I've installed DSL on the HD and the version of wine I'm trying to install is 20030813 because it works with the windows app I need.
So all I need to compile wine is the xliibs devel package.
I don't know if it is possible to put them in the repos.?
Anyway thanks for the replies.

on an hdinstall wine works ok, search the forums for my thread on the subject, it should tell you what deps you need (go to packages.debian.org to get them)
