Okay only a few.First what would I have to do to make EGON Animator work again in DSL? Ever since SIAG was introduced it stops working when installed from apt/synaptic. What exactly was done to SIAG Office to make it stop working and how do I get it back? Second, I have minGW Studio < http://petra.hos.u-szeged.hu/~aking/www.parinya.ca/ > running on DSL (It's included in Astrumi) but the developer of minGW Studio choose to license the software with something other than the GPL (Not sure if this violates the GPL). If I wanted to turn this into a DSL extension how would I go about it? BTW its not listed in a debian repository and to make it work one would need to install the gcc DSL extension first. Also due to possible license problems with minGW Studio if I wanted to replace it with Anjuta < http://anjuta.sourceforge.net/ > , a suitable replacement for minGW Studio, in DSL how much work would that be? Also once working how would one go about turning it into a DSL extension so others who want an IDE could benifit from the work. Third qustion, I find GINF < http://www.ndeepak.info/stuff/vtu/ginf/ > to be usefull from time to time. I grabbed the Debian package and installed it but it needs libgnomeui.so. Where does one find that. Again once it is working how to turn it into a DSL extension. Fourth Question- same as above but for CRIAWIPS < http://www.nongnu.org/criawips/ > although if anyone knows of a suitable replacement, other than OO.org presenter that works that would be fine also. Finally, I have gotton some usefull apps like Figurine to work how does one turn them into .DSL extensions without using the apt-cache script? Posted by Sam on Feb. 22 2005,00:07
As far as making .DSL extensions look;Deb2DSL script: < http://damnsmalllinux.org/cgi-bin....deb2dsl > How to create .DSL files (Note forum link is broken already): < http://damnsmalllinux.org/cgi-bin....;t=2416 > .DSL from source: < http://damnsmalllinux.org/cgi-bin....;t=2408 > Creating Menus for .DSL: < http://damnsmalllinux.org/cgi-bin....;t=2342 > Where do I send my .DSL: < http://damnsmalllinux.org/cgi-bin....;t=4549 > .DSL .info files: < http://damnsmalllinux.org/cgi-bin....;t=2343 > Setting Variables in .DSL: < http://damnsmalllinux.org/cgi-bin....;t=2322 > Should .DSL have Dependacies: < http://damnsmalllinux.org/cgi-bin....;t=2404 > Someone should make a FAQ or WIKI of this info. Some of the forum links are already dead or not pointing to the right place. Perhaps start up something on WIKI Books as a Howto or even as part of a larger DSL book/training manual. Anyhow... Anjuta has a lot of dependancies. I assume that you use Synaptic? If you do you can look for yourself- I would lean toward saying it would be a lot of work. Not sure about GINF although NVU is already a .DSL may want to look at that. Amaya is in the Debian repositories. Both NVU and Amaya could possibly be used as replacements for GINF.
