Hi, I've installed DSL to hdd (ver 1.0)I'm having problems using BashBurn, I can't mount my CD-RW with blank media in it, but I can with a "normal" CD (i.e commercial music CD). Without mounting then I can't burn...am i doing something wrong? Thanks Posted by green on June 02 2005,19:55
Not saying you are having the same problem, but I've had the "non-mounting" issue before. I put in a different burner and it had no problem. So, since I did nothing further, I assumed it was a hardware problem. I hope yours is not the case.

This is just a follow up for anyone with similar problems, when i used the same CD/RW drive in a different PC - with K3b (downloadable as a .dsl) I succesfully burnt a cd. I haven't got round to testing bash burn again yet - but will post any changes Posted by Grim on June 25 2005,21:14
Maybe I'm misunderstanding the problem here, but...It's not necessary to `mount' a blank CD before you burn it. In fact, I don't believe you can `mount' a blank CD, as it has no filesystem. You should be able to slap a blank CDR in your burner and burn away, assuming, of course, you have permissions to the device, yadda, yadda, yadda... |
