hi

i'm newbie to linux and dsl. i was wondering do i need to install apache, php and mysql or are they installed already. i did a hd install. can i get them with apt-get? what do i need to install exactly?

They are not installed.

Theoretically, you can grab them with apt, but I've never heard of anyone having any success, especially with apache.

You might try < IBLS >. It's based on DSL, and has all the things you want.

You may also want to check out < Lamppix > (also based on DSL).  It is a complete web server.

well, i installed xampp, and it's working fine now, i think.

now i have problems with vncserver. it won't work. does anyone know a good vnc server software witch is easy to set up?

I tried to use lampix but how would I get it working with QEMU?

dslnoob, vncserver should work fine. I use it in DSL everyday. Install the vncserver.dsl and run the two commands from the menu and you should be all set.
