For the past couple days, I have been unable to log onto aim using naim on a harddrive install of naim.  With some searching, some people have suggested that AOL has discontinued the TOC protocol, however, the TOC2 protocol works.  I was just wondering if naim works on this TOC2 protocol.  If not, is there an updated version of naim I can try to install or if I should just find another program to use.

Thanks.

yes in fact AOL did kill all support for TOC.  There is an un-official patch of naim which enables TOC2 support.  I have been using it myself and it works great:  http://joshuawise.com/naim-0.11.7.4-jw4.tar.bz2

hmm..

Sounds like a good choice for a myDSL extension, in addition to a future version of the base livecd.

Having an extension would be nice so that people with older versions of DSL can still use naim for AOL

I have compiled this source, and converted the finished install
into a .uci extension.

Still previewing a bit here before I release it into testing.

The nIRC login function doesn't work the exact same way
as it always has before, still figuring out how to edit the
menu options to make it behave..
