I have several gmail invites.  If anyone here wants one, send a message to my damnsmall messenger.  I will check it in the morning.

I'd read this before accepting a GMail invite:

Tinfoil-hat crowd going overboard again or real concerns? You decide.

I'd love to tryout gmail!
Unfortunately I already have 6+ email accounts I use on a regular basis and a stack of others I've never bothered to use. :O

Do you find any noticeable advantage/benefits over the usual email systems?
What about spam blocking/filtering?

Cheers
rob

Now this is starting to make gmail look very interesting. In theory you could even have all your dsl files located there! :O

GmailFS - Gmail Filesystem

GmailFS provides a mountable Linux filesystem which uses your Gmail account as its storage medium. GmailFS is a Python application and uses the FUSE userland filesystem infrastructure to help provide the filesystem, and libgmail to communicate with Gmail.

GmailFS supports most file operations such as read, write, open, close, stat, symlink, link, unlink, truncate and rename. This means that you can use all your favourite unix command line tools to operate on files stored on Gmail (e.g. cp, ls, mv, rm, ln, grep etc. etc.).

Cheers

Won't count on that. Google is a bit touchy on this stuff.

Incidently I also have some invites.

Well, I sent all those out and got 6 more, down to 5 now.  Anyone who wants one, send me a private message via the damnsmalllinux board that has an email address you can receive at.  I'll send the invites to the first responders.  Saiinunleashed and woverin have already taken me up on it and I sent one to ke4nt1.  :blues:

I've got tons of invites to waste.
Type in your email here (no PMs) and expect it coming.

I heard free web-based email companies like Hotmail and yahoo actually block g-mail invites becuase they think that they are spam! So let's test out the theory, send me one at somerville32@hotmail.com :) or if you are too scard to lose it please send one to clchase@nb.sympatico.ca

Thanks,

Me
