zOMG1!

Do I see an AOLserver.dsl in the future?

Will DSL become the backbone for the largest ISP in the world?

Will chocolate finally pass vanilla as the world's most popular flavor of ice cream?

...tune in next week.

Now wait a minute. AOLserver has been around a very long time. It is not the junk that you get in the mail every other day. I can't recall its original name. I would have to dig out my notes now buried in the garage. But it has a long and interesting history of how it became "open source". And yes, it is the server that handles millions of users on the AOL system. As CTO of a dot.com, I deployed this server, together with Oracle on Linux based servers. Later we switch to Sybase and had a massively distrubted, replicated, load balanced bidding vertical with servers in Hong Kong and Irvine, Ca. And yes, it was AOLserver and yes, the language of choice for this server is TCL.
