I saw the sales ad today for this weeks MicroCenter specials.

160 GB Maxtor or WD IDE drives - 8 meg cache - $53.00 ?
80 GB WD or Maxtor for $33.00 ?
52x CDRW drives - name brands - $18.00 ?
CDR blanks - 100 pk $8.23 ?
512MB keys for under $50.00 ?
256MB keys for under $25.00 ?

"what's the catch" I said..
" How much is tied up in the REBATES "

I went there today .....just to check..... !
(I should not be allowed within 1/2 mile of a hardware outlet)

All prices are firm, NO REBATES !!
Picked up a couple of the 160's , and a CD burner..
Such Schweetness !!!
I outta go back and grab a few of those 80's and RAID them up..

What a handsome DSL MP3/FTP/HTTP server THAT would make !

I think it comes in their (Chronicle) Friday Paper..
I only saw it today, after it was passed on to me..

Since it runs thru December,
I'm sure they have lots of copies of it at the front door.

Perhaps we can organize a gathering in the future in the Houston Area..

Dang I work at the SBC building on Weslayan...me and my buddies go to Microcenter at least twice a week (10min away)...in fact im gonna be there tomorrow (got 150bucks for hooking up a SmoothWall firewall at a company hehe) and gonna get me one of those 160Giggers!!!
