For one reason or another, I have typed Windows XP many times.But one time I looked at the XP part sideways, and noticed it looks like a constipated guy with his tounge sticking out.
It kind of symbolizes Microsoft products to the fullest, where you want something to get done but it just doesn't happen. That smiley sure represents how I feel.

I'm playing my dos games and there's nothing a nerd and his money can do about it. I know he's in there. In his castle on the edge of a cliff steaming about how I am playing dos games when he thought he succeeded in making them useless. I have beaten Bill Gates. I also have a prediction on what the new windows operating system will be: Windows (_|_). That's right. I think he's going to try and have some sorry excuse to the fact that he's going to ASCII-Moon all his customers. The jerk. I think someone should kick him right in rear end until his nose bleeds and broadcast the footage on the net. Noone gets away with taking away my dos games. Noone. |

Besides, the best DOS game ever works just fine under XP.And that's Oregon Trail.

And all this time, I thought XP stood for eXPensive.
One thing I've never liked about the NT kernel, though, is its non-support for sound in DOS apps/games.

A VERY small fraction of my DOS games work on XP, and that means hardly any!I owe what is now my DSL box eternal loyalty for running them all under 95 even if I didn't already owe it my life for its eternal loyalty when I asked it to do the impossible as a windows newbie.
How do people LIVE without DOS games and can you even call that living?

Check out the Games section of the DSL repository. Some of them are Linux ports of DOS classics like Wolfenstein 3D.| Quote |

Hmmm... How well do true DOS games run in an emulator in DSL like dosemu or dosbox? Do you get sound? Reasonable speed?

If want to push DOS emulation to the MAX, why not emulate the whole computer?Yeah, it's slow but it is possible to use the QEMU in DSL Embedded to create a virtual PC that boots up FreeDOS or even MSDOS if you still have the disks kicking around.

I miss my Doom 2.My computer runs XP, and, of course, nothing is suported. So, I get slow speeds when I run it from the HD, and then, almost none of the sound works.
Of course, I'm thinking Dell mae it that way on purpose, because linux likes none of my hardware, either ;____;
