id like to add that i will be doing all of my changes to the cd if thats possible from windows as im not comfertable enough in dsl yet
i just made my first boot cd ever today, and was pleasently surprised, although, and im sure i will be shot for this, windows xp is above dsl on many levels it seems, but then again, its hd only, almost 1.8 gb, and cost 300 if i were dumb enough to actually buy it, linux seems very promising. but im a winders texan for the time being, but id like to get my shoes dirty so to speak with linux. thanks again for any responses

Search the forums for help (search button on top of page).

I recall something about using a windows program like "ISOBuster" to modify an ISO image before burning it.

Basically, you would use the program to enter your ISO image file window and copy over the additional files (*.dsl , *.ci or *.tar.gz) to the top level directory.

Then save your ISO file and then burn it as an ISO image to CD-R using your CD burning software.

Good Luck.
