After trying for a few nights to get gcc to install, failing at libc6 I thought I might ask that someone consider making this and add it to the repository.

And considreing the amount of packages that rely on libc6 it would be really nice to have it.

I know thats it is too large to be included in the cd (or so I hear) but with the amount of people doing harddrive installs and wanting to install new software tjis would be nice.

I do not have an internet connection under linux so I cant use apt-get. And I cant even attemp to compile the drivers for my modem without gcc.

So I guess it may be I get gcc or I get another linux distro.

I have only been using linux for a week or so.

But in this time I have tried to be patient and all with the hardware problems I have been having.

It seems that eventhough DSL is designed to be a LIVE CD with the abount of hardware trouble myself and others are having the source and a development envrionment are of great value.

How hare would it be to make a dslkernelsource.dsl and a gcc/g++.dsl

If you have linux drivers for your hardware but its just that DSL dosent support them do you have to order a knoppix cd and build them over there and port them to dsl?
