Been playing round with 0.7.3 from the live CD (having a few problems with HDD installs, but thats for another part of the forum).

Successfully booted up and after netcardconfig, could get online and browse. When I run MyDSL from the desktop, the page opens. The page shows 'MyDSL Click and Load' and a small grey box is shown stating 'Programs available', then its the 'exit click and run' button and then text links. I can get .dsl files form the repository fine and activate them using emelfm. But I presume the idea of this gui page is thata a list of programs shoudl appear in the grey box and that clicking on them should install them?

Has anyone else had this affect, or is it just my iso image?

My "grey" area below the "Programs Available" line always fills up with many buttons to choose from..  Here is a screenshot..
Please send us a screenshot of yours, if you can.
Sometimes ibiblio is down, but you should get a text message
like this other pic...

What your describing doesn't match these pics....

You are correct in that the desktop myDSL button should present extensions available and make for an easy download and installation. The same can be achieved by:
1. visiting the extension download page and saving the link.
2.  using wget to fetch the extension.
3.  using emelfm myDSL button to load the extension.

Because right click and save as does not work reliably on some browsers the myDSL "click and load" program was created to make it easy to use wget and combines the three steps into a single one click.

Are you on dial-up or broadband? Even with broadband I sometimes have a delay connecting and or downloading from ibiblio.org. the myDSL desktop button launches a program that has to grab alot of information from the repository at ibiblio.org to present it page of downloads, i.e., it is dynamic. If no internet connection, or slow response from ibiblio.org then the preformance/behavior of this program will be affected.

As I said the grey box just has the words 'Programs Available', nothing else. Even after running netcardconfig. ???

NEWS!

Was thinking that it was a bad 0.7.3 iso image. But just reinstalled HDD (ran netcardconfig) and the 'ibiblio page is down' message came up! ???

I think 0.7.3 doesn't like serial mice at all! Now borrowing my PS/2 form my main PC and DSL installed no probs and apt-get works. Look like I'll be popping into the local PC emporium tomorrow lunchtime!

P.S.: The serial mouse wasnt any good as a mouse anyway.

There are some detection issues with the serial mouse.
repairs are in the works,

Again, with a LiveCD or Frugal install,
Once I have the mouse working on my desktop,

I simply place the line "/dev/mouse" in my filetool.lst, backup,
and it works forever...  in 0.7.3

Please do try adding the link lines to your bootlocal.sh, just to
make sure it works...

Aren't we on a different thread ??   :)
