extensions [at] damnsmalllinux [dot] orgThis is a new email address for sending new or revised contribs for addition to the myDSL repository.. Use this new address for sending contribs, questions, or for contacting me about FTP'ing your larger builds. Temporary logon/user/pass for large contribs needing FTP upload access will be given upon request. Damn Small Linux is also looking for further feedback about the existing contribs in the repository. Details about how the myDSL extensions and myDSL .tar.gz's run and load in LiveCD, Poorman's, Frugal, and HDinstalls would be very helpful in isolating extensions that require further attention by DSL staff or contributors. Sharing your experiences with using the extensions in your particular version or install type would be an aid to the DSL staff in determining where to focus our efforts, prior to the release of the new repository system. The repository will soon be upgraded to a more automated method of display, which will self-check extensions for possible conflicts and risk. and rate them according to a "color" scheme. Extension pages will be more concise, informative, and sorted for easier searching and browsing. Post your successes, challenges, or suggestions here, or send them to extensions [at] damnsmalllinux [dot] org 73 de Kent ke4nt Posted by Bernt on July 17 2004,05:26

Contact ke4nt1 on that email address. Either email the files as an attachment, or if they are too large i believe he can arrange a special ftp account for you to use.

There are several ways to add icons to a .dsl package.I would be more able to assist you if I had more info. 1. What method did you use to make the .dsl files. 2. Do you already have the Icons made and "ready-to-go" 3. Have you created the .lnk files that accompany the icons. 4. Do you already have a file made for adding your .dsl to the "Menu" Once you have these ready, or if you need help with these, let me know. Lots of info in the forums about dsl building as well. 73 ke4nt Posted by vabene04 on July 18 2004,17:45
Hello,i installed the files und put them to /home/dsl and /var/cache/.... .The i use your deb2dsl (which was a hard thing, because i had to remove all atbs of the end of the lines). I tested them with a bare dsl-cd. when i put them in with mydsl i could start them from there. I dont care about that, but others do. So i want to put icons to start. Synaptic (version 0.16, stable) is a nice thing for me, because i can use my sarge-dvd and upgrade everything. I can't use my internet, a got adsl. Posted by vabene04 on July 25 2004,14:07
Hai,my .dsls are ready with icons. I made synaptic, eboard (include crafty-chess) sjeng (works with eboard), xskat (german cardgame) and zsnes (emu for snes-games). They are all working, tested on an bare-dsl (7.2) and with my (updated) dsl on hd. How can i get them online? Posted by ke4nt1 on July 25 2004,16:12
email them to extensions [at] damnsmalllinux [dot] orgor, if necessary due to size or limitations in your email provider, you can send a short email requesting ftp access, and your temp/user/pass assignment will be sent to you. 73 ke4nt Posted by vabene04 on July 25 2004,17:41
I sended xskat, eboard, gnuchess and synaptic. Synaptic needs dpkg und root-rights. It is the stable-version. Updating is easy. I have one more - sjeng, a chess-engine for eboard - but i have zu search it. I will send it an other day.Im working on scribus - it makes hard problems - and on openmosix. |
