I have also been trying to get Mplayerplug-in to work with Foxfire with no luck so far.  I would surely appreciate any suggestions that might make it work.

I have just started using DSL about a month ago and I really like it.  I am fairly new at using Linux, but I am learning a lot thanks to DSL.

Are you using the GTK2 version of Firefox?

It is available in the mydsl repository.

Probably not,I am just using what came on the distribution.  I will download that version and try it.  Thanks for the suggestion.

Hi guys!

I have tried to make the mplayer-plugin to work several ways but I just can't make it work. Mplayer works but not the plugin. Does anyone have some suggestions?

Have fun Y'all,

How did you install the mplayer plugin ?
Ive read to create a symlink or place it in your ~user/.firefox/plugins

I never do that What I do is i make a global installation of firefox like this.

mv firefox-install firefox
cp -R firefox /usr/lib/  or
cp -R firefox /usr/local/lib/  your choice here

change to the mplayer plugin dir
./configure
make
make install
after make install I cp mplayerplugin.so to /usr/lib/firefox/plugins
or where ever you installed firefox.
give firefox the proper permissions to allow all users of your system to use it and your done.
I hope this helps
Sincerely
Larry
