I'm not sure if this is a bug in trommler, but whenever it gets installed it somehow disables the icons on my desktop for the rest of the session.  Anyone know why it does this, and how I can get my icons back?

It could be that the package wasn't updated to use "dsl" instead of "damnsmall".  The original package had its icon located in a directory that no longer exists in DSL....this would cause xtdesk to fail.

Quick fix, if this is the problem:
Edit /home/dsl/.xtdesktop/trommler.lnk
Change "damnsmall" to "dsl"
Restart xtdesk

That was the problem.  How does one go about notifying the maintainer of a dsl that their package needs updating?  Or should I just do it myself?  I only ask, because I'm not likely to since I discovered Hydrogen, which is so much better than Trommler anyway.  :)

The info file tells you who put together the DSL package.  In the case of trommler it was me, but i haven't bothered with it since Ke4nt made the Hydrogen package.  Even though it's much larger and depends on Qt, Hydrogen really is a much more advanced tool.

As the master of the myDSL repository, Ke4nt has the ability to modify whatever is there....depending on his schedule and the extent of the problem he may be able to fix it in reasonable time (but i don't want to speak for him).  Otherwise, contact the person who packaged it (not the original author!) or post here, as you have done.  I think most of the people who build myDSL packages visit these forums regularly, and we all benefit from learning about myDSL-related bugs.

Since I rebuild every extension I receive and post as contributions,
it could very well be my mistake during rebuild/repackaging.

I'll look into it shortly..
Thanks for the info..
