This is very late, but the MyDSL maker (< http://www.fordi.org >) it back up and running.  Feel free to use and abuse as I have a hefty new bandwidth limit of 50Gb/mo with a cheap extra gig price.

Additionally, you can use the site as a mydsl mirror < http://www.fordi.org/mydsl > (John, I'm talking to you).  It's a direct copy of ibiblio and kept up to date once weekly.

I cant download  embed-mods.tar.gz.
Can you fix the link?

Uh, frell?  I seem to have lost the file in the site-swap.  I'll have to check if there's a copy on my work compy.

When I download a 330MB ISO, I only receive 1.7MB of it.  This happens every time I attempt to download.  I'm using Firefox 1.0.4 for Windows and a dial-up connection to download the file.

Well, I get a lil bit more than that.  After selecting, I'm suppose to download around 87mb, but ended up with 37mb.

This is a very cool idea. Thanks fordi. How difficult is it to upgrade the kernel?
Posted by WDef on Sep. 24 2005,12:56
While it's possible to change the kernel in dsl I'm not sure it's recommended.  Rebuilding the kernel in a Knoppix-based distro can be a pain in the ar**.  Also, dsl has been put together to work specifically with the supplied kernel (knoppix 2.4.26).  Changing the kernel may lead to unforeseen consequences.

Debian (for eg) is very easy to upgrade official kernel images with - no rebuilding needed - try that if you want to fiddle with different kernels.

OK, maybe I'm not gettng the whole download because I'm using EI6 and it's download manager. But how do you NOT use the EI6 download manager? It does it's thing without asking.
