testing firefox GTK problemForum: myDSL Extensions (deprecated) Topic: testing firefox GTK problem started by: clacker Posted by clacker on May 25 2005,19:45
I just downloaded the firefox-gtk2-1.0.3.tar.gz extension and I think them menu entry should be[exec] (Firefox-1.0.3) {/opt/firefox-gtk2-1.0.3/firefox} instead of [exec] (Firefox-1.0.3) {/opt/firefox-1.0.3/firefox} Posted by ke4nt1 on May 25 2005,20:23
That sounds like your right...The filename SHOULD match the menuname.. I'll change it when I update it to 1.0.4 here very shortly. tnx. 73 ke4nt Posted by ke4nt1 on May 26 2005,15:08
I gave firefox a facelift..See the testing area for the new 1.0.4 ... Please test and feedback.. 73 ke4nt Posted by clacker on May 26 2005,21:06
thanks, ke4nt1. I think you need to change the links, they still point to 1.3 which is no longer there. 1.4 is there but the firefox testing link doesn't point to it. If you manually change the 3 to a four in the address bar you can get it.

Silly me...That's what I get for keeping such late hours.. I was thoroughly testing the menus/icons late at night, and didn't remember to update the web page after I uploaded the files.. Thanks for the heads-up.. 73 ke4nt Posted by clacker on May 27 2005,01:50
Wow, I tried out the uci version and it worked great. I was able to add a theme, as well as adding greasemonkey. Even the jre in the repository worked.nice job!

ke4nt1,can you give me a little backgroud on how you are getting firefox to work in dsl? are you compiling it on a "regular" debian box and copying the binary and support files over? or are you apt-get ing the packsge and creating your dsl package from there? any info you can provide would be great.. trying to learn more about developing from dsl thanks, Bob |
