when the gui comes up it asks for the domain, machine, share, name, and password.  i didn't put anything for the domain (my two machines run on a workgroup), for the machine i put Dave, for the share i put incoming, for the name i put Guest, and for the password i put nothing.

it seems to require i put something for the domain and password.  for the cli smbclient it doesn't ask for a domain and doesn't require a password.  i can download from my other computer just fine from the command line.  i just need the gui cause i can't see all my files from the cli.  what should i put?

ok i got it working, but its not quite what i expected.  isn't there a program that acts like a gui for samba?  in bash, i view the files in my directory, but its completely disorganized and it cuts off like more than half my mp3s when i use ls or dir.

You are just using the tiny smbclient that is in DSL base.

Get the samba.dsl for a fore full-featured windows network client/server.
