I've sucessfully installed to usb using the livecd and then the 5way install - it leaves me 16mb free out of a new 128mb stick - is this about right ? I had thought I would have had more free space than this ?D ps - after a week of tinkering with a 1gb drive, then a 256mb drive i finally got it working on a 128mb drive - i put this down to the drive geometry - i could not get this working on the 256 despite using sfdisk to reconfigure the geometry. The 5way install includes the embedded version of DSL. That version has a 60mb 'virtual' HD so that is why you are seeing the increased size, if I remember correctly.Chris Posted by declanh on Dec. 24 2005,23:20

No, because the Flash disk is being used by Windows (aka D:\ drive, E:\ drive or something like that) and cannot be used simulataneously by DSL embedded as a virtual HD.HOWEVER, it is still possible to read and write files to the flashdrive for either windows or DSL embedded. You can use Windows Networking to "SHARE" your E:\ drive (or other appropriate name) and then use SAMBA.DSL or the smbclient program to access the files from inside DSL embedded. |
