I have installed DSL to my flashdrive by typing "install" as a boot option. syslinux boots it fine i get to the DSL boot screen where I can choose to run DSL with options or not. If I just press enter(to run it without any options) X never seams to start. The screen is just black. Any ideas?

Try adding:

vga=normal

to your boot command line

that doesnt come with success either.

Note: I have an nForce4 chipset which i heard has problems with X and Fluxbox. I have tried the remedies the thread provided, but still got nowhere. I also have the same issues with the live cd.

Does DSL version 2.1b work with it?

I havent tested 2.1b but I have tested 2.2b and the results are exactly the same.

2.1b = linux kernel version 2.4.31 (newer)

2.2b = linux kernel version 2.4.26 (older)

So it might work with version 2.1b even if it does not work with version 2.2b
