is there any way to delete the partitions on my thumb drive, and use more than 50 megs of my 256? i do not have a live cd anymore and am only running linux ... any ideas out there? i tried some free partition managers, no go ...

You can use cfdisk or fdisk in Linux to delete all of the partitions and write a new partition table. Then Windows or Linux can format the drive as FAT16 or FAT32.

How do you get cfdisk or fdisk to work on a USB device? I have tried both and they would only recognise my hard drives (hda) not ny USB drive taht is sda. Posted by doobit on Feb. 24 2006,17:58
