does any1 know if DSL can support my iPod(IEEE 1394) and run either iTunes or recognize myPod as a virtual HDD?

I don't know if it will read or write anything to your iPod because of the file system that iPod uses. It will recognize firewire however.
Anyway, it can't hurt to try.

You could try installing gtkpod and see if it works with your device.
