Hello,

I would like to install DSL on my USB stick and I want also use the USB stick in Windows XP. If I use USB-HDD, windows can see the whole USB stick but booting doesn't work (I checked out many hints that I found in this forum). And if I use USB-ZIP, booting works but windows sees only the first (full) DSL partition. So I wonder if I can do a USB-ZIP installation with a first 450 mb partition and a second (50 mb) DSL boot partition.
I took a look at pendrive_usbzip.sh but have no idea what I have to change in that file. I couldn't find a solution for this problem in this forum neither.
So If you have an idea, please give me a hint.

Thanks in advance,
Max

Unfortunately, Windows only sees the first partition of a USB drive for some strange reason.

I believe the ZIPdisk format is a 250MB sized disk.  So you should be able to create a first partition that is 250MB in size and can be booted via USBZIP and also seen by MSWindows.  But the 2nd partition cannot be seen.

I assume that you can do this manually because the early USB bootable devices were done this way before the pendrive_usbzip script was created.

Either search the forums for old info, or you can read the script file in Beaver and either modify it to create a 250MB partition or you can manually enter the commands and build your own USBZIP drive.
